I finally had my baby. First off, Saturday when i posted about the cramping and back pain, it was actually the real thing! But i would just first like to say that my labor was GREAT and it was pretty easy. Well it wasnt easy at first. Saturday about 8 in the morning when i woke up i noticed light cramping and a back pain that was coming and going. I timed them and they were irregular. These were different kinds of pains too so i just figured if it was real it would get worse. Well by 1pm they got just a little bit worse and not too bad but still pretty painful especially in my lower back. Well my mom convinced me to go to L&D and i was really hesitant because i didnt want to get sent home. Well i got there and they confirmed i was having contractions at this point all in between 5-10 minutes. They weren't too consistent though. The nurse checked me and i was 1 1/2 cm and 80% effaced. needless to say i was really mad. We let the contractions keep coming and she checked me an hour later only 1 1/2 cm and 90% effaced. Okay now we get up to go walk around for an hour. Still in pain and it was gradually getting worse i walked and then when i came back for her to check me again, she said it was still the same and it could be early labor. well i was soooo mad because i knew that would happen, and i chose to go home and get something to eat since i hadn't had anything to eat all day. Well as soon as i got up to walk again and we got to the parking lot, the contractions were getting pretty bad and i could barely walk, but we proceded to go home. Then as soon as i got home i was barely handling the pain in my back. I laid on the couch and my mom made me a sandwich and it was pretty bad!! Let me just say back labor is the worst pain imaginable. I was to the point that i was laying down digging my fingers and nails in my skin in my back and pulling my hair. I took a couple bites to eat and stopped because it made me nauseous. I seemed to not have much time in between contractions to rest, then the pain got so bad that i yelled at my mom to call the doctor because im in too much pain to be 1 1/2 cm dilated. As soon as she turned the corner. POP and gush!!!! MOM!!! my water broke!! It was the strangest feeling because it was no small gush, it was buckets of water just coming out!!! It was weird because as soon as it happened my contractions eased up and i had a relief sensational feeling. Well after grabbing like 50 towels trying to walk out to the car and me laughing the whole time saying it was gross, we made it back to the hospital and the nurses were actually really happy to see me back. Well as soon as i got back the pain came back and even worse now! I was begging for the epidural wich seemed to take them forever to get. But when i got to the hospital the nurse checked me and said i was 5-6cm! WOW i went from 1 1/2 to almost 6cm in about an hour. The nurse put an iv in me and gave me nubain. and that instantly worked within like 2 min i was relaxed and really didnt care when i felt the contractions. Then they finally came in and gave me the epidural, and honestly it didnt hurt at all, the iv hurt worse going in than the epidural, it just took them a long time. WEll after they got eveything in, i was barely feeling the contractions which my epidural worked PERFECTLY for me. Well about another hour or 2 hours later which it was around 9pm now, the nurse checked me and said i was 9cm. i was so amazed to be progressing this fast. Then about 1030pm i was only at 9 1/2 cm and the nurse said whenever i have more pressure and more feeling to push, to let her know. Well it wasnt long after that, about 1130pm she checked me again and said i was fully effaced and fully dilated. i was happy! She started me out pushing to see how i would do and said once she could start seeing the head, then she would call the doctor and we would really be pushing! Well, i tried and when we finally could see the head a little bit, she got a hold of the on call doctor and i was really feeling pressure now! I was getting frustrated because the nurse kept saying her head would come down a little and go back up a little and it felt like it was coming out with every push. so i yelled JUST GET HER HEAD OUT OF ME!! and about an hour later i finally pushed her head out and i could feel everything!!! It was amazing, as soon as her head was out, which was the most painful, it was just an instant relief and slimy feeling as the rest of her body came out. The cord was rapped around her neck only 1 1/2 times which wasnt a big deal. The doctor instantly put her on my belly and i was sooo happy to see her, she was gorgeous!!! They took her away and then the placenta came out and after pushing on my belly what seemed like 100 times, she was over by me in my arms. The nurse weighed her and she was only 7pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long!!! Born at 12:50 am. Wow i was sooo happy i expected her to be like 8-9 pounds easily so thank god. She had a head full of blond hair which was crazy because i didnt get heartburn hardly throughout my pregnancy. I am soo glad this pregnancy was fantastic and my birth was perfect. With my fear of pooping, i didnt even poop, i got sick only once though and i was shaking really bad from it. and i only had one small tear so i am glad. Congrats to all the new mommies and hope there aren't too many more waiting!!!
