Dear all:

Just wanted to share this in case it helps anyone else.

I have been so ill for the past month that I've had to cancel some classes, and I've slept every afternoon for the past 5 weeks.

Then I went to my normal doctor, who is a ND doctor (a Naturopath), and he said that the prenatal I was taking (which was approved by the MD at the women's clinic) was too low in potency to do anything, didn't even contain all the vitamins I needed, but DID contain chemicals found in CAR WAX. He explained to me that, while it was normal to be a little tired and sick sometimes, it should not be keeping me from doing my job properly or being able to help my husband clean the house for 5 weeks! He said that my baby would be sickly like me if I didn't get myself well.

He told me that if I wanted to stop being nauseous every day, I had to get a prenatal at a health food store (not the kind you get at a grocery store or pharmacy) which contained 75-100 mg of B6 vitamin and 400 - 600 mg of Magnesium.

I had been able to eat, on average, less than one meal per day for the past 4 weeks. I was eating HALF a sandwich and a small bowl of soup - that's it! per day! I was averaging 500 calories from food, probably another 200 from ginger ale that I sipped to keep the nausea at a minimum.

I tried the saltines - they didn't work. Some people said "eat something and you'll feel better" which sounds good but is the last thing someone truly nauseous can or even should do. I'd force down a bite or two and I always just felt worse.

THEN, after seeing the doctor on Thursday, I started taking the new prenatal Thursday night.

Friday morning, I got up and announced to my husband that I wanted WAFFLES - I felt absolutely amazing. I have been eating 3 full meals a day Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and now Monday makes day 4. No nausea, and only queasy once or twice when I got really hungry. I have been eating everyting in sight - fruit, yogurt, ice cream, cheeseburgers, salads, JELLY BEANS, potato chips, veggies, everything. I had lost 2 pounds this month, and gained them back over the weekend.

I have so much energy back now that one of my students today called me "hyper."

No one thing will work for everyone, but B6 and magnesium have COMPLETELY CURED my morning sickness. I therefore wanted to let everyone know in case they had the same problem I did, and maybe this could help them too. I know I was at the end of my rope. My husband would fix me food and I'd look at it and cry.

Good luck all!

I would like to add that I also started taking cod liver oil tablets at the same time as the vitamins, just in case that has something to do with it.
