I don't think you're being unreasonable one bit. I had the same issue with my first. FOB is a jerk and his mother is a mental case, and she wanted to be IN THE DELIVERY ROOM but I x-nayed that one, and I specifically asked her to wait until I invited her up to the hospital because I wanted quality time with my newborn and she showed up the next morning at 7am when I'd just gone to sleep with my daughter at 5! I completely understand why you'd like for them to wait, you'll be exhausted and moody and it's unfair of you to be obligated to entertain. your husband doesn't understand because he's a man. he's not the one giving birth nor carrying the baby. I'd say talk to him some more about it and let him know the reasons why you'd like his family to wait to come visit. everyone will get to see the baby in due time. they should understand and respect your requests.
