What program are you using? I agree with what the others have mentioned.. and I dunno if you did this or not but what a lot of the girls do for cutouts, after they do the cut out they select with the magic wand tool and feather the image by 1 or 2px just once and it kinda cleans up the edges. Sorry if that made no sense! lol If you tell us what program you're using it will be easier to help you.
