only people I know personally-or someone " referred" by someone I know personally- for example, a friend of a friend who thinks we'd hit it off etc.
Very few exceptions. I have one or two online friends that i have known 5+ years I have on my facebook page and have used it to connect with some really old friends but I am quick to delete friends that make no effort to communicate at all with me-why add me as your friend if you dont even say HI once!?
FB for me is a way to keep in contact with people i ALREADY know-not to meet new people
