First of all I would like to say sorry for being MIA lately. Between my nesting frenzy and work I have been super busy. Everything is completely ready for baby now though. Such a relief. Anyway, yesterday at work I was having a ton of back pain and it would frequently radiate to my lower stomache even at rest. At one point I felt like I had wet my pants a little. I talked to my charge nurse at work and everyone wanted me to go to the hospital (my hospital doesn't have L&D). I really didn't feel like this was it, but since I had some fluid I called Jeff who came to pick me up and off we went. They hooked us up to the monitor where immediately you could see some contractions. The baby was super active the whole time. This LO is not a fan of dopplers, monitors, etc., LOL! They did a vag exam and there was no fluid. They did the exam without any jelly because that could have given false results, OUCH! They said it was probably just a lot of secretions which was what I was kind of thinking anyway. I was only dilated one cm and a wiggle as the RN said. My cervix is still long and thick and they could not feel the baby's head during the internal exam. I felt really silly going in because I knew it wasn't real labor but everyone keeps saying since I was having what I thought was fluid it was good to come in anyway. My contractions were actually picking up as we were leaving which made me feel better. I'm glad my body is making some progress even if it is slow. I have my next Dr. appointment on Tues. so we'll see how it goes. I work this weekend so hopefully all that walking will get things going.
