I had one last May. And I had it done before bloodwork. It isn't too much of a problem. Basically they will lay you on a table (think less comfortable than a pap), they will clean your cervix and insert a catheter to inject the dye into your uterus. Then they might have you move around a little to help the dye move. They want to see if it flows out of your tubes. They will take a number of xrays in the process. Start to finish it took less than a hour I think.

I had a child 3.5 years ago and not been pregnant since. I don't think my doctor expected a blockage (I had a vaginal birth) but he did it do narrow the possible problems.
