It sounds like you had a rough experience. I hope it was just this nurse that didn't explain things and you have nicer ones when you actually do go into labor. She should have taken the time to explain things to you instead of just brushing you off.

It's hard with a medical background too. When I was in labor my night nurse was new I think. Connor's heartrate started dipping and I wanted to scream at her to hurry up and do something because I know the risks even though I'm an ICU nurse not a L&D nurse. It's so hard sometimes to be the patient!!

I'm glad you got checked out just in case because it's better to be safe then sorry.
