I have had pre-e with both pregnancies and have tried to do lots and lots of reading.

There is the Brewers diet... which, I think studies are starting to show that this may not be the best route

Ina May Gaskin (a famous midwife in Tennessee) writes about eating a high protein vegetarian diet. This is sort of the route that I am taking. I am eating less meat, but high protein options, I am allergic to wheat and I have cut that out (I did not know this my last pregnancies), I get kidney stones easily from calcium build-up so I have to limit to no more than one glass of milk a day and cooking with milk only. I also had a LOT of weight gain in both of my last pregnancies... so I have to watch what type of calories I take in so that I do not cause extra work for my heart... so I do not drink juice or eat junk food. So I pretty much drink only water, eat wheat free, and a high protein vegetarian diet., And I try to stay as active as possible...but take breaks when needed. I allow one day a week for cheating, but once I start eating a certain diet, some things don't seem appealing to me. Except pastries and pizza.... those will always be a weakness for me, lol!
