DH has been fired for being Muslim and my oldest has had trouble at school so it's made him a lot more compromising on names. He wants the meaning to be there, but doesn't want it to be anything that the baby will be given trouble over. If we go with Gabrielle we'll teach both pronunciations so she'll know it both ways. I can't see others getting it right even if we correct them up one side and down the other. Then when she's older she could choose the pronunciation she wants to go with.
