When I was pregnant with Jaiden, we had gone in and had an emergency u/s ... we discussed in the car on the way there that we wanted to find out what we were having. Of course, Jaiden wasn't cooperative (and everything was alright ... just had bleeding from the outside of my cervix).
We scheduled the regular anatomy scan for a few days later and it ended up that because of work DH was running late. I didn't want to find out without him, so I asked our tech to write down what it was and put it in an envelope I had brought with me. Also, when she went to look for his "parts" she let me know so I wasn't looking at the screen.
DH got there just after we finished and we sat down in the waiting area and pulled out the pictures. We both got to see together that we were having a little boy! I know he felt disappointed that he couldn't be there for the u/s, but having that moment with him was wonderful!
I hope everything works out with the u/s and DH can make it on time. But if not, there have been a lot of great ideas for finding out together!
