I don't know about ya'll but I am a firm believer in actually disciplining a child. Sending a kid to their room because they did something bad is not good enough. It is rare to find a kid who does not have a game system and/or computer in their room, so all they do is go in their room and play.

When I was a kid, if we did something bad, we got spankings. And believe me, they worked! We do the warning system here. First time DD does something bad, she gets a warning, second time is time out on the couch with no toys, third time is a smack on the leg. We very rarely get to the smack. Time out usually does the trick! Because she knows what comes next. If parents would discipline their children, I think things would be different. So many times, you find people like my neighbor who just don't give a **** and allow their kids to run the streets. (Literally, her son who is 2 crossed the busy street next to my house and was playing by himself in the woods by my house, with no shoes, pants, or shirt. Just a diaper.) It's really sad!
