At our hospital as soon as baby is born before they leave the room they are fitted with a security braclet and an identification braclet, mom and dad get one too. No one can get onto the maturnity floor with out being buzzed in by the nurses and cleared by the patient to visit. Baby can not leave the floor or an alarm will sound and everything will go into lock down mode.
