Homework

How is your child doing with homework this year? Do you feel like it's a lot for the, or a good amount? Does he/she fight or argue about homework?

So far it's been a good amount, meaning not too much, not too little. She loves doing it! She gets one notebook that stays home Monday- Thursday and returns on Friday, and then on Friday she brings 2 different weekend homework notebooks, some reading and math usually.

She gets homework Monday-Thursday, should take no longer than 15 minutes, but she's usually done in 10. It gets done as soon as we get home so she's still in school mode and does it quite happily.

She gets homework Monday-Thursday and it's usually 2-3 pages long (or various activities- reading, drawing, etc). It takes about 10-15 minutes. Normally, she does it fine with no complaints. Everyyyy so often she'll whine about it.

Re: Homework

He gets a lot. Its always 2-3 pages. One of them, his math is always front and back. He also gets 1-2 pages of reading pages and also has to read at least 10min a night.
With him having the issues he does with his Aspergers its hard on him. He wants to do it, but it takes him a long time and he gets super fusterated if he can't figure it out right away or has to ask for help.

Re: Homework

He has a homework notebook and is supposed to do 4 questions and take it back Friday. He can do them once a day or all at once or one for two days and two on Wednesday and take it back early. As long as he has one of each subject and its back Friday morning its fine. He does okay - sometimes he has to be reminded to ignore his sister and work. He also has to read for at least 20 minutes a night and write it in his log (which he also takes back Friday).

Re: Homework

Oh, Justine, I can just imagine! I'm dreading homework with Danny, school is so much extra work for him to focus and engage that by the time he gets home he is DONE.

That being said, Eric's homework is really light, which I think is appropriate for grade 1. On Friday, the teacher sends home the weekly newsletter and homework. He's supposed to read 10 minutes a night, practice 4-7 spelling words, and do one sheet of math, and the sheet needs to be returned the following Friday.

How is your child doing with homework this year? Really well.
Do you feel like it's a lot for the, or a good amount? I think it is a good amount. It hasn't been too overwhelming. She usually does two pages of her weekly homework packet and then practices reading each night.
Does he/she fight or argue about homework? No, she knows better. lol. sometimes she groans a bit but that is all.

Fritz either has no homework or everything he has is homework. He doesn't fight me at all on anything. He still loves school.
