Allergies

Now that the kids are 5, what allergies do they have that are defined? What is the reaction?

Maddie is allergic to penicillin and cephalosporins. She reacts with a full body rash that breaks out soon after stopping the meds.

Re: Allergies

Vincent is allergic to dairy protein. If he eats something with dairy in it he has stomach pain, diarrhea, and acts angry and emotional, has lots of tantrums, etc.
Sarah is allergic to MSG and food dye. she acts over emotional, angry, and positively insane when she has it.

Re: Allergies

We have seriously lucked out in this category. I had a ton of allergies as a kid, including food allergies. DH also has a few allergies, so we were positive that London would have the same issues. Fortunately, she does not have any allergies or food sensitivities at all. It's pretty awesome. :)

Re: Allergies

Neither of my kids have food allergies, Sydney is lactose sensitive though, as am I. Syd gets seasonal allergies which come on in the spring, runny nose, itchy eyes, etc....she has ear issues as well and will be getting her 3rd set of tubes put in, in March.

W is lactose intolerant and gets nasty hives and rashes when exposed to certain viruses. Neither are true allergies. S is allergic to dust mites and cats.

Re: Allergies

Nothing food here.

I am worried about medications because we have a history of it in my family including me but luckily we haven't needed anything beyond Tylenol

Oliver gets watery eyes when we get Santa Ana winds (really strong winds)

No food or medication allergies yet. He has seasonal allergies that cause runny nose/puffy eyes and the culprit (based on limited testing done last year) is tree pollen.

Liam doesn't seem to have any allergies. There have been a few times he's had a runny nose and red, watery eyes, and I thought there was something allergy-ish going on, but it was over in a day or so.

Emerson has some sort of dairy issue. I'm not sure if it was just aggravating his reflux, he's lactose intolerant, or a combination. Since we stopped giving him milk and cut it cheese for snacks, he's been much happier. We still use dairy here and there in cooking which doesn't seem to bother him. We do our best to keep it minimal.

No food or medicine allergies for Lily. She seems to have outgrown her polyester allergy she had as a baby for the most part. The last few years she would get patches of eczema on her ankles and wrists from the elastic in her socks and long sleeve shirts, but we haven't seen that this year.

Abri has no allergies at this point.
