Giving up naps?

I think Keelan is gearing up to drop his one nap a day. It's been really hard to get him down for about a week now, but keeping him up past 6:00 pm has been just as tough.

Anyone else giving up naps yet?

Will still takes a solid 2 hour nap every day. Thank God. LOL

Alex stopped napping months ago.

It's helped a lot with her going to sleep at bedtime, but has helped very little with her midnight parties.

Not even close! I tried to keep him awake today so I could go get some groceries and he sat down laid his head on me and promptly fell asleep.

Same with Joshua. Some days no naps or he takes like 20 min cat naps when I go to pick up my daughter from school.

Absolutely not! lol. E also takes a solid 2-hour nap daily. And still sleeps 12-13 hours/night!

No, thank goodness. He did have a napless day over the weekend and he did pretty well. He would have napped if we had put him down, but we went out to a kite festival and didn't get back until 2:30. If he sleeps less than 2 hours he is a beast, but he can't sleep past 4 or he'll be up at 5am. He had also slept in that morning until 9, so it wasn't too bad.

Re: Giving up naps?

both Ayla and Silas have gone through a no nap phase. Ayla's lasted almost a month, and silas lasted about a week. I still put them down in their beds at nap time, even if they stayed awake the whole time. I called it rest"pite" time. I needed a break and they needed a rest. They eventually picked their naps back up.

I think so! He only napped once for a tiny amount of time this past week. I REALLY hope it's the end of napping for him! I know people appreciate their naps, I find it so much easier when they don't take them. Kaitlyn gave them up at 14 months which was nice.

Popping back into this PR :)

PJ still naps everyday anywhere from 1030am to 1pm depending what time he got up that morning. Sometimes hell sleep from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I'll take what I can get ;)

Oh my goodness! I can't imagine no naps! Yikes! I need that time. Heck, my 4.5 year old still sometimes naps. At the very least he is in his room alone for 2 hours every day.

Lew needs to nap in a big way, so I don't see that going away anytime soon. (Before you hate too much....remember that when most of you were talking about your LOs going from 2 naps to one is about the same time that Lew went from zero to one. I am still OWED nap time from that first hellacious year!!! LOL)

Re: Giving up naps?

It is really not "usual" to give up naps by this age. That being said....mine, who is an end of Sept '11 baby...gave them up months ago!!! Gack!!!

It is ok, and fine to have happen. It is just not the usual.
