age game
I'll start with throwing out a scenario and the next person answers with their opinion of the appropriate age, then they throw out scenario for someone else to answer.

At what age is it appropriate to watch Star Wars for the first time?

5 .....you may see it beforehand of course but 5 for the first official viewing then again at 7 and 10.

what age appropriate for a first sleepover & is it different if the sleepover is at your house or the friends?

Josiah had his first sleepover with out of town guests last weekend at age 4. I most likely wouldn't do sleepovers at a friends house until grade school.

At what age is it appropriate for a girl to wear small amounts of makeup?

If they are playing around then I don't see a problem with it, I have a photo of me with lip stick smeared all over my face at 2 or 3 :). But when it's serious then it would be 15 or 16, the start of High School, kids these days are trying to grow up too fast :(.

What age is appropriate for a boy or girl to have their first real date. Does the gender matter or should it be the same?

Dating, I'll say age 16 at the least for me; older would be great. Dating should be in a group at 16; maybe at 19 there can be one on one dating. For me no gender difference.

What age should a child have their first car?

Their own car? When they can pay for it. Until that they are welcome to borrow one from Mom and Dad :)

temporarily any age they want (meaning like koolaid dyeing or those cans of spray on color at holloween ect)

permanent like from a box or hairdresser probably at lest 13 to 15 depending on the reason.

what age is it appropriate for a first pet.

We got dd our dog Molly for her 4th bday. Of course, we take care of it, but she is "her" dog. What age for first real cell phone?

We'll get our kids a pre-paid phone to use for emergencies when they start going places without us (trips with church friends, sporting events, etc.).

For an actual phone to call their friends, text, etc. it will depend on the maturity of our kids and their ability to use it responsibly...but it for sure won't be before they are in high school.

What do you think is an appropriate age for a child to start getting an allowance?

we just started giving my 5 1/2 year old an allowance this summer.

Connor has allready had a taste of pound cake :shhh:
like actual purchasing of desserts for them probly 3 or 4 at least but i dont mind shareing a bite or 2 of what im having.

what age would you allow them to go to an event without you (not necessarily without supervision but without you or their father)

Josiah just went to his first event without us this week (aside from Sunday School and Preschool). He will be 5 in September.
