How is it?
How is it I eat night and day during the first trimester and not gain, and hardly eat at all in the second trimester and put on 5 lbs? =\ Blood pressure is still up some, swelling is going on. Gah, I really hope I'm not showing signs of pre-e or something. 16-17 weeks is a bit early, huh?

I've been watching what I eat since I've felt better, drinking tons of water. What gives? Fingers crossed I'm not going to get bed rest, because it will not happen with two kids!

Re: How is it?
Oh no now you have me worried, lol. I lost weight in the 1st Trimester, well 5 lbs, but hey it was something. I don't go back till May 8th and I feel that I will have gained that 5 plus more. Strange isn't it? lol

Re: How is it?
Could it just be the weight of your uterus, baby, fluid, and extra blood?

Re: How is it?
I'm in agreement with Allison. Maybe it's totally the baby. Anxiety also can make your blood pressure go up so maybe it's just that you're worried about something?

They consider me to have hypertension because my blood pressure is high. My whole thing is, why weigh me first and make me upset by telling me I'm losing a lot of weight then right after take my dang blood pressure. Then they expect you to NOT have high blood pressure after you just bawl your eyes out

Hopefully it's nothing to concern yourself with, hun. Try not to worry, though that is easier said than done.

I was thinking the same thing! WIth all my throwing up, you would think I would have lost weight, but every week, I am up a pound...sucks!

Re: How is it?
Gaining weight is a good thing! You're supposed to gain 20 lbs, give or take based on your body type/medical history. Don't worry about it - leave that to the doc. If you're eating well then you have no worries.

Re: How is it?
technically you should be gaining. And if I remember right doesn't your body actually increase its blood volume?
