Might as well still be pregnant..

Not much has changed lol. (except the amount of crap accumulating in my room! Yikes haha)

This is how I spend my days. This baby is so much harder than my 1st. I'm thinking he may have some colic or reflux issues but I'm not exactly sure what to look for. He just cries and cries all the time. If he is awake, he is usually crying. So opposite from DS1 who would just lay and look around. He spits up a lot and seems to be gassy but I really don't remember if it's more than normal or not? We have our 1 month checkup next week so i'll discuss it with his pedi. He is happiest when he is being held and bounced or walked around. I have 2 carriers and a wrap so this will be my life for awhile I'm guessing! It is definitely a challenge with a 3 year old to chase around too.

Any input or advice is welcome!! Someone suggestion watching the Happiest Baby on the Block..? (I think that's what they said its called)

You look great!

Lily hates to be put down, so we are doing the same thing. It sounds like he might have reflux, definitely talk to his pedi.

yes happiest baby on the block is a wonderful helper... and things tend to get better somewhere between 6 and 12 weeks for most babies. I hope you get some answers or relief soon.

Re: Might as well still be pregnant..

I like his tips in that show. Works like a charm or worked like one on all of mine. :) Lily Vale is pretty picky about where she is as well. If she's alone she has to be reclined at an angle, looking at the sky, and 50% chance swaddled. Or swaddled with a paci in a swing. Or on my boob. My last was easier, my first was a dream. Perfect babies are usually trouble. Lol Not much longer till our fussy butts settle!

Re: Might as well still be pregnant..
I think most babies just really like to be held and close to mommy. I think it would freak me out too if I spent 9 months squished up inside, warm and snuggly and listening to wooshes and a heart beat and then was suddenly thrust into a way too wide open cold world with too many lights and noises and expected to lay on a hard mattress alone.

My first DS wouldn't tolerate being put down either. He also spit up all the time but didn't have reflux, or if he did he had the painless kind, he was just a spitty baby. Henry is a little more lax and will go about 10-20 minutes alone and awake in his bouncer or lying on a blanket before he starts to cry, and I know he isn't hungry or wet or in pain, he just wants to be held. It's frustrating sometimes when I'm trying to get stuff done but I just try and remember it will pass.

Re: Might as well still be pregnant..
Hello... Lurking from Nov DDC... Congratulations on your little bundle. Sounds a lot like when I had DS. All he did was cry, when he was awake. I noticed the same thing and found him spitting up even an hour or two after eating. People thought I was being paranoid as a first time mom when I said " I think he has acid reflux" but low and behold he had a very severe case and was put on a liquid medication until about 9 months. Doc said that sometimes the flap over the esophogus doesn't fully develop until around the age of one. So I slowly weaned him off at 9 months.:D

I would definitely talk to the doc and see what they recommend because after he was on the medication he was a totally different kid... always happy and smiling and only cried when he was hungry or pooping! lol

Hope this helps!

Re: Might as well still be pregnant..
I was just thinking that this morning! Henry cries constantly when he's awake. He also wakes up from sleeping to scream and poop or toot. It's so so hard. I tried the gas drops and gripe water but those haven't worked. He's happiest in the wrap while I move around or on the boob. He doesn't like pacifiers either. Wish I could help more, but struggling myself!!
