I'm neither angry nor defensive.
Hm. I would like to add though that I also know what's good for me and the kids, and not good for me and the kids, and I choose to ignore those facts on occasion as well. Occasionally, my kids get a hot dog or a pop tart, even though I know it's not good for them, because they enjoy it. Though actually, they get hot dogs and pop tarts and mac and cheese A LOT more often than my dogs get pasta noodles or cooked beef in sauce (which is like once a month).
Also adding: my dog is fat, but has lost weight since I got her (I got her at a very round stage of her life). She also has allergies, but was tested two months ago and grain/pasta/peopleish things weren't on the list. She is allergic to grass and pollen, which is unfortunately unavoidable. And part of her fatness is due to the steroids she's on FOR those allergies, because we can't remove them from her environment. Trust me.. if corn was on the list, she'd never get pasta.
I had a dog that was allergic to air. His diet consisted of lamb, fish, and avocado.
