It was a good for me, because it wasn't "public" but it was still out of my comfort zone and I had to use a nursing cover and didn't have the help of Boppy or Breast Friend either. Maybe try taking a few of those type trips for practice? Keep us posted!

That's a good idea. I think I am putting pressure on myself because I'm visiting my family in 2 weeks (even though my mom is here now lol...my poor hubby works so many long hours and I need all the help I can get, so I'm going back with her for a few weeks, yay!) and I was hoping to have the BF thing down pat by then and then introduce a bottle to her and everything will go swimmingly. Of course nothing ever goes as planned!
I'm getting frustrated because I called 2 different lactation consultants and haven't heard back from either...I feel like no one wants to help. But then I have moments of zen where I'm extremely thankful that I have a good supply, and the baby IS able to breastfeed, even though it with that annoying shield.
After that horrible experience at the doctor's office, I was 99.9% sure I wanted to exclusively pump. Pumping is so easy for me with the hospital grade pump we rented and it would just be so freeing...but then when I breastfed her next I realized I'm not ready to give that up yet, especially when she's so young. I just need to take things day by day I think.
Liz, how do you like the Breast Friend pillow?
