Hello,
My name is Shannon- mommy to Mackenzie 27 months and Charlie 7 1/2 months.
Mackenzie has been potty trained since February- she was 22 months.
For the last months she has been potty trained during the daytime, but used diapers for naps and bedtime ( 1 nap a day) She has had very few accidents in the training process, and now 5 months in, accidents are few and far between.
Last week, i decided to try her out with undies for her nap. She always peed in her diaper during naptime, even if she went pee before, but she could hold it for 2 hours during the day, sometimes longer, so i figured it was worth a shot, if anything, i would have to do an extra load of laundry.
Well, she held it during her nap, and every day since when we put her to bed in undies.
So my next question is, how do i know if she is ready overnight. Clearly 12 hours is a lot longer than 2, but honestly i never know what to expect with her. We didnt think she would potty train this early- she started asking to use the potty, and i never thought we would be naptrained already. She always seems to do the unexpected.
Do you think 27 months is too young to learn to be potty trained overnight? She will pee in a diaper every single time she wears one, which is why pull ups never worked for us, even if she just goes on the potty. I hate feeling like i am holding her back by wearing the diapers.
Any advice. I also dont want it to sound like im being too pushy with her. I really dont care if she trains overnight yet, but i just dont know what to do. if i should give her the chance, or wait until her diapers are dry in the morning.
