well, the basics of weight loss is calories in must be less than calories out. A really great site for calorie counting is FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal oooohhh and Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate

You go there, put in your weight, height and general info, and it tells you how many calories you need to stay at your current weight. then it will drop 200-500 from that (depending on how much weight you have to lose) and it will also give you a sample meal plan. if you dont want to use that then there is a huge database of almost every food that is already calorie counted. Its annoying looking for things the first time, but if its something you eat regularly it saves it so its just one click the second time.

it also gives ideas for exercise, which is a huge factor in weight loss, but you prob know that!
