It would have to break the skin to pass on rabies.. Rabies is only communicable for a very brief window of time, if the cat is still alive and fine in 10 days, then your fine. Cat bites DO have a tendency to get REALLY infected though, so keep treating the area and watch for noticeable redness. You may want to talk to your Dr about it, they may want to prescribe antibiotics just to try to prevent an infection.

There hasn't been a cat that tested positive for rabies in Indiana since 1984, so rabies probably isn't a big concern..
