My notes from this past Sunday...

Difference between what's required & a sacrifice
2 Kings 17:24-33, 40-41

What's required & sacrifice are NOT exclusive.
God's requirement IS sacrifice.

Sacrifice is defined as giving up something you love for someone you love more.

God's Requirements:
  1. Worship -- Worship is a lifestyle/service. It's not just 1 hour a week on Sunday.
  2. Sacrifice (the right sacrifice) -- Psalm 40:6-8, Exodus 21:1-6
  3. Follow the example of Jesus

Worship IS sacrifice.
1 Corinthians 1:20-25

There's no difference between requirements & sacrifice.

Romans 12:1:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
