*Thought I'd share this story as I know many here have experienced backlash in regards to having a "non-traditional" birth. *

Yesterday I went to my regular doctor for a non-pregnancy related issue.
Of course during the visit we did start talking about my pregnancy and she asked what OB and hospital I was using.
I somewhat reluctantly told her we were using a midwife and waited for a lecture on the dangers...
But I was wrong!
She responded by telling me she used a midwife/birth center for her first child and had her second at home! She went on and on for about 10 minutes about how great it was and how she thought all women should do it. She was very excited to hear I was having a home water birth. Speaking with her got me even more excited than I already am.

The whole conversation was really uplifting because this is a woman who works right alongside OBs and used to work in a hospital. Usually the medical community is well...pro-medical community. But she was very supportive.
