Thinking about attempting VBAC at home. Scared.

I had made my decision to attempt a VBAC at home, but I am having second thoughts. I worry about the risks and not being able to get to a hospital if there are problems. I trust my midwives (my main midwife is my aunt), but I just keep feeling scared. I've tried talking in my DDC about this but as a general rule they think hospitals are safer, cleaner, etc.
I had my previous C section because I had low fluid and an infection, but I really wanted a homebirth. I really feel this homebirth is the only way to protect my choice to have a VBAC, but I'm having a hard time reconciling the risks to me and the baby against my rights to choose what happens to my own body.
In the hospital I'd go to with a VBAC you need to be monitored continuously, and if you don't progress 1cm and hour.. you end up with a c section.
I guess I'm looking for support. I wasn't sure if I should post here or the VBAC board.
