This one... it's from Zeke's naming day, we asked Ryan's Grandad to say a prayer for Zeke, and not only did he give us a full sermon, AND handed out tiny little bible, prayer book things, he greeted mum's family with the most horrifically racist story about when he visited Sri Lanka (they are all Sri Lankan, but live here now and have done for 40 years) back in the 1950s. Ryan and I were cringing the entire time he was talking... but fortunately the family loved it, it was just the Sri Lanka they remembered! It makes me laugh now of course, it was just so typically Grandad, but you can see how strained Ryan's and my smiles are!

And this one... as if we didn't learn the first time, we asked for Grandad again to read a very specific version of 1 Cor 13 at the wedding, which he said he had a bible for and would prefer to use his personal copy (JB Philips) he ended up bringing his King John Version, and read the entire chapter 13 instead of the excerpt we'd chosen, despite John's (pastor) lovely diplomatic efforts to cut him off at the end, and then went on to preach for another couple of minutes at the end! This is the moment where Ryan, John and I have realised it's the wrong version and there's no way to get Grandad to stop!

I know neither of these are outwardly funny, but the stories always give me a giggle.

Anything that showcases Zeke's funky personality always makes me laugh as well
