Hi ladies--I have been saying I would not join here because I work too many hours and really shouldn't be spending the time, BUT, turns out I've been lurking here daily for weeks now. So basically, I give up. I want to join you ladies and here I am!
My name is Kate, I'm 30 and expecting my first baby October 18. It feels crazy to me to even write that! Much to my shock, I got pregnant in my very first month of "ok, I'm out of birth control, let's not get more and just see what happens." I totally thought it would take a while but I was wrong. I feel VERY lucky about that, but also nervous and a bit unprepared! My husband is really nervous about fatherhood, but he was NOT surprised at all. I guess men are trained from the time they are teenagers to believe that if you do the deed even once without birth control, instant pregnancy will result. Apparently sometimes that's true! :-)
I am 8 weeks and 2 days now and finally starting to relax and believe our little bean will stick. I have been very nervous the whole time due to DAILY spotting, tiny amounts but every day, since right after I got my BFP at 4 1/2 weeks. We had a 7-week ultrasound and I was so relieved to see that lovely little fluttering heart, 132 beats per minute. They found a small perigestational bleed which, after much scary googling, I now cautiously hope will eventually go away.
You ladies are a great group--I'm so happy to be here and looking foward to spending the next 8 or so months going through this wonderful crazy experience with you!
