From what I understand, it either works exceptionally well with your child, or it simply frustrates them and they cry when you bring the book out...but not much middle ground, lol.

My sister used it with both of her kids and while she said it was very boring, they both learned to read well. Most people say don't throw it away until you've at least tried it, because when it works with a child, it works well. Personally, I looked at it, but was put off and went with Christian Liberty Press's Adventures in Phonics and Explode the Code instead.
