Adelheid is very... German.
It's the German/Dutch form of Adelaide, and sounds a lot like it. A-del-hide. First syllable like Adelaide, last syllable just like Heid-i. Or if you want to go super German, it's A-dul-heit, with a soft t at the end. We say it with a d sound, though. I've also heard it with a silent h, so A-dul-ide. I prefer the first of the three I just gave though, and so does DH.
He's "thinking about it." I never took his last name when we got married, and I told him that I'll change my last name if he lets me change Heidi's first name.
