Ovulation is possible as early as day 5, so I wouldn't rule that out - especially with the EWCM and strong thermal shift. Every woman is bound to ovulate early once in a while. I wonder though if the egg wasn't fully mature when it was released. An immature egg can mean you don't produce enough progesterone during the post-ovulation phase, so you can get spotting and AF may show up sooner. This can happen because of stress or sometimes just because! If this sort of thing happens consistently, it's good to see a doctor. But if this is unusual for you, it's fine to wait it out and see what happens with this cycle.
