Modern types of Natural Family Planning are as effective as the Pill, but without any side effects or risks. There are several different types of NFP to choose from as well, because different couples have different needs. We've never had a surprise with the Billings Ovulation Method. In one study Billings was compared with the IUD and there were more pregnancies in the IUD group. We've used it post partum too, before AF came back.
