I am licensed and I don't! But almost every child care provider I know has switched from hourly rates to a monthly rate and will charge if the child does not come. I have been very fortunate and have gotten awesome daycare parents so I still charge hourly and haven't had a problem. They give me reasonable notice if they have a vacation and usually only miss if their child is ill. But I really have been considering changing to a straight rate so I can plan on how much I get each month...
