I definitely think there are certain things that are just hard wired into your child from birth (whether you want to classify it as gender related or just their own individual traits), regardless of what you do as a parent! Like Jess' kids, I feel like Josiah is a good mix of traditional gender stereotypes and crossing into what was traditionally "girl" territory. He LOVES his trucks, and being noisy and rough, making them crash. His favorite color is blue. Thomas the Train and Fireman Sam are his favorite shows. He is super imaginative, turning every item into a piece of fireman gear, some sort of vehicle, or a weapon

BUT... he loves his babydoll, rocks his stuffed animals and snuggles them in at night, loves to play with his dollhouse, and loves Dora and the movie Tangled. He also loves the colors pink and purple. When I see him play with girls his own age, there is a definite difference in how they play. Josiah is much more physical, and his periods of lengthy concentration center around physical activity most of the time (like running a truck in circles around the house, or playing a fast paced game of hide and seek) rather than sitting still and doing something calm. I'd really love to have a girl the next time, just so I could experience how entirely different they are from one another!!
