I don't know if its necessary to do one this time since i'm going to a birthing center where they'll let me do almost anything i want anyway. With my son i had a birth plan although the nurse didn't follow it so what was the freakin' point?! Grrrr. I still feel like its worth having, you just need someone to be your advocate and speak up for what you want as you go through labor. I gave a copy to my doctor and made a few copies for the hospital as well. I wish i still had it saved but it was on my old computer. I included things like letting me labor in any position i'd like, only intermittent monitoring, only occasional cervical checks, no IV unless necessary and requested a hep lock only, and things i wanted afterwards such as baby immediately being placed on my chest and able to BF quickly, DH cutting cord, etc.

I looked at a lot of samples of birth plans from other people and that helped to create one for myself.
