I'm not sure if I understand what you are saying, was someone telling you not to push?
My last 2 births were natural births and were about the same. My third was a much faster labor than my 2nd, and the pushing phase was very intense with my 2nd, myabe because it was my first time feeling it. With my third labor though, I felt very in control when I was pushing, I just pushed when I felt the urge (or more my body did it for me).
