Hi everybody!

I am new to the breastfeeding board. I have been breastfeeding my baby for almost seven months now, and I have always had some pain on the left side.

The problem I have been dealing with off and on for the past two months or so is lingering pain after feeding. There is no pain during feeding her, but starting a couple minutes afterwards I get this sharp throbbing pain just in the tip of my nipple. It will come and go for hours and is extremely painful! I don't get the pain every time I feed her, only sometimes, and only on the one side.

Anyone have any ideas what is causing the pain?

My nipple isn't shaped funny when she's done, and I don't believe it is a latch problem. There is no indication of thrush or any other kind of infection, and no blister or anything on the nipple or different on the one nipple as opposed to the pain-free nipple. The main reason it bothers me so much is because it is almost impossible to fall asleep when it's hurting is because no matter how I lie down there is pressure on my nipple and that makes it worse.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me!
