Does he spill it when he's drinking it or does he fool around with it? When we started we didn't let the kids have the cup on the tray until we were pretty sure they wouldn't just dump it. Even now Teresa only gets about an oz of liquid at a time since she occasionally still dumps it. I don't mind refilling it thruout the meal since it's the same as only giving her a little bit of food at a time so that she doesn't toss all that and waste food.
