honey, I know how bad and painful it can be, I seem to be having a flare-up myself (weird huh!) which I believe started because of eating pizza on Saturday night - though since I've been pregnant I've been mostly ok with cheese, there have been times where I've eaten it and then had trouble.
But yes, Easter egg chocolate could be another cause because dairy is one of the "big" culprits as far as IBS is concerned - it's dairy that sets it off for me.
That sounds more likely than any indirect stress, but you never know. Are you on any medication for it? Before I was PG I was on amitriptyline and omeprazole and they kept IBS and acid reflux very much under control. I can't take the amitrip while PG so now I've just got to suffer. If you're not on anything and it continues, I would see your doc - in the meantime Buscopan can help which I believe you can buy from the chemist.
I think people who haven't had IBS just don't realise how bad it can be. It can be very debilitating, not just the cramps but the need to be near the bathroom, the diarrhoea, dehydration and in some cases (which is what I get) severe nausea where you feel like you might throw up for hours on end and nothing to ease it. Big xxx
