With DD, we just told people. We were young and both still living with our parents, so it wasn't a super exciting thing for everybody but once we got our own place at about 8 weeks and got married, everybody got excited for us.
With DS, we told my parents in a birthday card to my dad. We just signed it from "Shelley, Tavo, Lorena and ...". We told MIL by having DD carry out the digi and hand it to her, she had no idea what it was at first and then read it and was like "OMG!". We told BIL by playing a game of hangman and doing "Shelley is pregnant" and everybody else heard by word of mouth.
