I would be okay with touring a jail to see what it's like if I was informed and the kids weren't made to be scared in any way. A library and jail are VAST differences, which makes me uneasy in the switch.

Now Lily's school has had to do a last minute switch for a field trip. We were going to go to the zoo and it was drizzling, and they said it would be okay because the kids could get ponchos and it was supposed to stop. Well I was a parent volunteer and so I drive to the zoo, and saw buses get there... never saw Lily's school. It's about half an hour later than she's supposed to be there and I start to panic. I call the other mothers and we can't find them, one person said they heard they were already inside. I was about to seriously panic, I had Lily's lunch, the school had my volunteer ticket, and the zoo is HUGE. I would have no idea where they are and she was supposed to be in my group. Then the rain comes pouring down and they suspend activities at the zoo... further panic. I then get a call from her teacher, they were trying to call everyone to inform them that they moved to the museum across the street. I actually got there before they did because they had to call around and see where they could suddenly take a bunch of kindergarten through 3rd graders at the school. So all was well, but I was panicked to not know where she was right away and they didnt allow the volunteers on the bus.

So all the parents were called but I just wish I was told sooner so I didnt panic when I thought she was inside and I missed her!
