I was talking with an old friend yesterday (actually my penpal from HS!) and mentioned that we had un-enrolled Alyssa from kindergarten and pulled Rylan out of preschool to homeschool. He went on and on about the typical things (you know, lack of socialization and parents being unqualified teachers), and after giving my points I told him that I didn't care for my parenting being called into question. He said "I sure hope your parenting would be called into question, just as any other parent's would if they were doing something that is detrimental to the child". I stated that it is not detrimental to my children, and apparently parents are unable to be the judge of what is detrimental (his opinion). We discussed that and he actually compared homeschooling to arranged marriages and marrying off young girls into polygamy, therefore proving that parents can't decide what is best for their children. Yes. Okay then.
