Today I lost 7 of my 20 chickens, including my most favorite one, to a predator. I know that is the risk we take having free ranging chickens (I could never do it any other way) and I keep trying to tell myself that they are just stupid chickens, but I am just so sad. I can't help it.
My flock seems so small now.
