Maiya's birth started about 10 weeks before I gave birth...I had had blood in my urine for months, so they sent me to a urologist, he sent me for an U/S to check out my kidneys where we learned that the baby was breech...I was only 28 weeks at the time so it wasnt a huge deal...
Four weeks later, I was still breech, so I got an U/S at my dr office...Maiya was a bit small as well as being breech...
She never turned from breech, and kept measuring small for the rest of the pregnancy...I did everything possible to get her to turn - cold peas on my stomach, inverting on an ironing board, 6 chiropractor appointments with the only chiropractor in town to specialize in the Webster technique to flip breech babies...nothing worked...
We scheduled a c/s at 38 weeks cause baby was not growing much at all in the last 3 weeks, and there seemed to be less cord blood flow then they wanted...
Even with that, we were going to have a manual version (here they manually try to turn the baby from breech to down) beforehand and if it was successful, they would induce me instead of c/s...
Manual version failed, she wouldnt go past transverse even with two people pushing as hard as possible...so, off to the OR, and she was out by c/s at 9:36am on May 7 ...she was tiny 5pounds 15ounces and 18" long...apparently she was pretty stuck in there and the top of her forehead was kinda smooshed in from being squooshed...
It was hard to deal with cause Kaiden had been such a wonderful, pain free natural birth, but it is what it is and she is perfect...
THANK YOU Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggie
