My mom's recipe has a bunch of sugar, but I usually add less and it's just as yummy.

1 bottle cranberry juice
1 bottle red wine
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
5 whole cloves
1 tbsp whole allspice
2 cinnamon sticks

Boil sugars with cranberry juice to dissolve. Add wine and spices; simmer at least an hour in the crockpot.

After I boil the sugar with the juice, I dump everything in the crockpot and let it do it's thing. So yummy!
