Thanks ladies! She's measuring all different sizes. Her head is the biggest. I keep thinking of the line "It's like an orange on a toothpick." Oh gosh. I am very relieved to be able to see the specialist. It will be nice to have some clarity. I'm just having a hard time thinking about having a baby under 5 lbs - and that right now that looks like the best possible outcome. That seems sooooo tiny. Her heart valves, her palate, her head shape, etc all look normal. My main doctor just thinks that she is small and that it's my placenta "running out of gas". He says that it's atypical for someone my age (26) to have that problem. He said that when the placenta is not providing enough fuel that the baby will focus the growth in the most vital area - her head, and that once she starts getting adequate fuel, the rest will catch up. We'll see. Baby cakes has the hiccups right now, and I really like that - it's just so reassuring to feel her.
I could use a pick me up. I'm thinking chocolate cake. but not the labor kind...
