Living in Australia I can't really give you an idea of the cost of these meals, but for us they are our 'go to' meals when things are tight:

pumpkin soup and seed bread (I cook it with 1/2 cup lentils and once the lentils are soft I blend it all together. You can't taste the lentils but they are an excellent source of protein) This meal is surprisingly filling. I also sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg into the soup, really adds a nice flavour to it.

spaghetti and mince bolognaise (I use 500g of mince and then bulk it up with onion, tomato, finely grated carrot and zucchini - that way the kids get plenty of veg and they don't even know it's there!)

I know I have more, just need to scratch around and find 'em for you! (Getting old, my memory isn't what it used to be
