Sorry about your cancelled IUI

Yeah, Femara isn't approved for infertility treatment anywhere, just for breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It will actually have a warning about not using it before menopause. This is because there was a very small, poorly done study that showed it caused birth defects - in women who used it the whole time they were pregnant! For ovulation induction, it's only taken CD 3-7 and since it has a half-life of only 2 days, it's long gone well before you ovulate. That's also why it doesn't thin your lining like Clomid, since it's gone before thickening occurs. I really think it's a great option for you, and I'm glad your RE is wiling to try it.
