Each mom/baby is different. The average is 10-15 minutes, but in some cases it stops within 2-4minutes, and with others it can take 30-45 minutes. There is no "right" way, it's just a matter of each person's unique body

I think it's important to remember that if the cord has truly stopped pulsating, clamping is just something we do before cutting it. There's no time limit, unless the Dr/Midwife is in a hurry. Some people even leave the cord attached to the placenta until it falls off naturally (lotus birth), which can take days.
